Railways to Conduct Computer Based Exams for 1.4 lakh Vacancies from December 15

Railway board chairmen Mr. V.K. Yadav has announced the conduct of an entrance exam for 1,40,640 vacancies from December 15. The process was delayed due to COVID-19, the board has decided to start the recruitment process following the footsteps of JEE and NEET 2020.
For 1.40 Lakh vacancies, the railway has received approximately 2.42 crore applications. The vacancies include:
- 35,208 posts for non-technical popular categories (NTPC) such as guards, office clerks, and others.
- 1,663 posts for isolated and minister categories like Steno and teacher.
- 1,03,769 posts for level 1 vacancies like track maintainers, postman, etc.
V.K. Yadav said," the computer-based exam is going to be held from 15th December 2020 for 3 categories of posts and a detailed schedule will be announced soon.” The application process for the vacancies was completed but CBT was on hold due pandemic.
The Railway Board is analyzing the ground situation and following the necessary steps to conduct the examinations. The standard instructions are being framed and will be issued to applicants very soon.
