RRB NTPC 2020 Exam Pattern, Syllabus | All You Need to Know

RRB NTPC 2020 exam will take place from December 15, 2020. 2 crore 42 lakh applications have been received for 1.40 lakh vacancies.
In 2019, the Railway recruitment board (RRB) released the notifications for different vacancies but the examination was delayed due to some reasons. The delay reason according to the railway ministry was that they are selecting a new exam conducting agency. RRB will soon release the new exam schedule for December 2020. The recruitment exams will be held for three categories-
- Non-technical popular category (NTPC)
- Isolated and ministerial category
- Level one employee category
No. of Vacancies:
- NTPC- 35,208 vacancies (guard, office clerks, commercial clerks, etc.)
- Isolated and Ministerial categories- 1,663 vacancies (stenographer etc.)
- Level One Posts- 1,03,769 vacancies (track maintainers, etc.)
RRB NTPC 2020 Exam pattern
- The total time allotted: 2 hours for the PWD category candidate and 90 minutes for other candidates.
- There will be a negative marking of 1/3 marks for each incorrect answer.
- Stage 1 exam will be a CBT exam consisting of questions of screening nature. The level of questions will be according to the educational qualification of the posts.
- The normalization of the scores will be done for shortlisting of the candidates for the second stage.
- The RRB NTPC will consist of objective type questions in the form of MCQs.
RRB NTPC 2020 Subject wise syllabus
- Mathematics- Number System, Decimals, Fractions, HCF, LCM, Ratio And Proportion, Percentage, Mensuration, Time And Work, Time And Distance, Simple And Compound Interest, Profit And Loss, Elementary Algebra, Geometry And Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, etc.
- General Intelligence And Reasoning: Analogies, Completion Of Number And Alphabetical Series, Coding And Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities And Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Puzzle, Data Sufficiency, Statement Conclusion, Statement- Course Of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation Of Graphs, etc.
- General Awareness: Current Affairs Of National And International Importance, Games And Sports, Art And Culture Of India, Indian Literature, Monuments And Places In India, Transport Systems In India, Famous Personalities In India, Flora, And Fauna Of India, Important Government And Public Sector, Computer And Basics Of Computer, etc.
Minimum percentage for eligibility according to categories:
UR 40%, EWS 40%, OBC (non -creamy layer) 30%, SC 30%, ST 25%. There can be a relaxation of 2% for PWBD candidates in case of a shortage of PWBD candidates.
