SSC CGL 2020 - Some Important Key Points Before Starting Preparations

Common Graduate Level , which is known as SSC CGL exam which is conducted by Staff Selection Commision for the recruitment of staff for various posts in ministries, departments and organisations of the Government of India. This exam is conducted by SSC for selecting staff for various Group B and Group C posts. The Staff Selection Commission was established in 1975.
Applying for various posts candidates must have a bachelor's degree i.e a person must have graduation from an authorised university for applying for this particular exam. Age limit must vary from 20 to 30 years. The age limits will be depending upon the position applied. Application fee is Rs. 100. All female candidates and candidates those who are belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen qualified for reservation and are exempted from paying application fee.

SSC CGL 2020 Selection Process :
- The SSC CGL Selection Process would require you to undergo 4 stages so as to be eligible to urge the appointment letter of desired posts. The SSC CGL notification has mentioned 4 tiers as given below:
- Tier 1: Objective Computer-Based (online) Test (MCQs) containing 100 questions
- Tier 2: Objective Computer-Based (online) Test (MCQs) with 2 compulsory papers and a couple of other papers for specific posts
- Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi (Pen and Paper mode)
- Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test as per the post applied.
Some Points got to be remembered about CGL Selection Point :
- SSC CGL 2020 Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams are going to be conducted in online mode.
- The time duration of Tier-1 is going to be an hour .
- The time duration of Tier-2 is going to be 120 minutes. hour each for English & Quants.
- Tier-3 is going to be a descriptive paper of 100 marks within an hour in pen and paper mode.
- No Sectional stop
- No Interviews: Interview component has been dispensed with. there'll , therefore, be no interview
- Skill Test: The Skill Test are going to be of qualifying nature
- Final Merit List: The merit are going to be prepared on overall performance in Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III.However, the candidate will got to qualify all the tiers i.e Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III separately
- Minimum Mark Required for Descriptive: Only those candidates who secure a minimum of the minimum qualifying marks within the written examination as could also be fixed by the Commission at its discretion are going to be eligible to appear within the SKILL TEST.
SSC CGL EXAM PATTERN :
SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is going to be held from 2nd to 11th March 2020 and therefore the Tier 2 & tier 3 are going to be held from 22nd June 2020 to 25th June 2020.

- The total time of 80 minutes is allotted to physically handicapped students.
- 0.5 marks will be deducted from every question that is attempted wrong by a candidate.

SSC CGL 2019-20 Exam Pattern of Tier 2 Exam :
SSC CGL Tier-2 exam is of 200 marks. A time limit of 2 hours is given to candidates to complete each section of the Exam. For physically handicapped students, the cumulative time to complete the Tier-II exam is increased to 2 hours 40 minutes.
- There will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension) and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV

SSC CGL 2019-20 Exam Pattern of Tier 3 Exam :
SSC has decided to conduct a Descriptive Paper instead of Interview in SSC CGL for all the candidates who qualify SSC CGL Tier-2 Examination. SSC CGL Tier-3 Descriptive Paper (Pen and Paper Mode) is introduced to test the writing skills of the candidates. The paper is in English/Hindi language and will consist of 100 marks. Candidates have to complete the entire paper in 60 minutes.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2019-20: Tier-4 :
SSC CGL Tier-4 Exam is a Computer Skill Test. SSC CGL Tier-4 is conducted in two steps:
- Skill Test in Date Entry (DEST) Test and
- Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) Test.
DEST: Candidates are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes on a computer in English. This test is conducted to check a candidate’s typing skills. Candidates are given an article in English which they have to type on Computer.
CPT: This test is conducted to check a candidate’s proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Generation of Slides.
