The Republic of India is headed by the Prime Minister of India. Governance of the country is the responsibility of the Prime Minister. There are various sectors affecting the lives of the people. Hence, a ministry is a higher authority that manages that sector of public administration. Ministers are the heads of these specific ministries. The prime minister runs the government with the help of various ministries and he has the right to allocate a certain ministry to a person of his choice- called a minister.
A group of central ministries headed by the prime minister is called a union cabinet.The Union Council of Ministers exercises executive authority in the Republic of India.Union cabinet is the highest decision making body in India. The Union cabinet advises the prime minister and vice versa. The respective cabinet minister carries out the decisions taken and directives from the prime minister in his ministry.
The sole right for the appointment and removal of any minister from the ministry rests with the Prime minister. In other words, the president seeks the prime minister’s advice in appointing a minister. The cabinet is presided by the prime minister of India. The prime minister is the senior-most member of cabinet in the executive of government in a parliamentary system. The prime minister chooses and can dismiss members of the cabinet; allocates posts to members within the government; and is the presiding member and chairperson of the cabinet.

Cabinet Ministers: The Cabinet of India is the core of the Council of Ministers of the Union Government and the collective decision-making body. All the important portfolios of the Central Government together comprise the Cabinet. The Union cabinet is collectively responsible to the Lok Sabha as per article 75(3) of the Constitution of India. The prime minister has to enjoy the confidence of a majority in the Lok Sabha and shall resign if they are unable to prove majority when instructed by the president.
