- Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said the emergence of COVID 19 has emphasised the fact how unregulated exploitation of natural resources coupled with unsustainable food habits lead to destruction of systems that support human life.
- Participating in a Ministerial Round table Dialogue on Biodiversity Beyond 2020, Mr Javadekar urged the nations to join hands on the occasion of the start of the UN Decade of Action and Delivery for Sustainable Development to put nature at the heart of post COVID19 recovery plan.
- He informed the round table that India being a mega bio diverse country, has a robust legal and institutional set up for biodiversity governance.
