UPSC 04 October Exam Analysis

The Union Public Service Commission has finally conducted the UPSC Preliminary examination on 4 October 2020. The examination was conducted post lockdown and the students who have appeared for the same have shared the feedback with us. This year the paper was relatively tougher than last year, hence for a better understanding Team, Livolearn has prepared the analysis.
UPSC Preliminary Exam Pattern
The highlights of the UPSC Preliminary Examination is as follows:
- The total duration of the exam was 240 minutes which was divided into 2 equal time slots of 120 minutes for the two papers.
- The students will get 2 marks for every correct answer while 1/3rd marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- The exam will be held in bilingual format, viz English and Hindi.
- The marks secured in the preliminary test will be only qualifying in nature.
- The students will have to clear the overall cut-off decided by the UPSC authority.

UPSC Prelims Analysis
General Studies I
The General Studies I part consists of questions from History, Polity, Economics, Current Affairs etc. The total duration of the examination is 2 hours for 100 questions. The students have to answer the question in the objective format. This year this section was moderate to tough for the students, the complete analysis is given below:
