In all the government of bank exams, English section contains questions based on sentence arrangement. This is one of the trickiest topics where many candidates loose masks. In this Article, we will tell you about the types of jumbled sentences or paragraphs asked in exams along with their solving tricks.
These questions related to sentence arrangement contain jumbled sentences which candidates require to arrange properly and make it a meaningful sentence or paragraph.
Types of Sentence Arrangement
Type 1
This contain 5 sentences and candidates are required arrange them in such a way to make a meaningful sequence. The paragraph made after the properly arranged sentences, it should be meaningful and coherent. These questions check the compositional and organizational ability of the candidates and hold over English Language.
Type 2
These questions contain 2 fixed sentences i.e. S1 and S6 along with 4 other sentences as ABCD or PQRS. Candidates are required to arranged them to make a proper meaning related to S1 and S6.
Type 3
These questions contain 5 sentences ABCDE. Candidates are required to arrange them properly and answer the questions based on the arrangement.

Type 4
These questions contains the sentence which have some parts marked as PQRS in jumbled order. Candidates are required to arrange the parts properly to make a meaningful sentence.
Tips and Tricks to Attempt these questions
- In case there is no first or last sentence given, Candidates must check the chronology and try to find out the sequence of the events.
- In case of S1 and S6 are given, candidates are required to find the linkage of previous sentence and find other sentences accordingly.
- In type 4 arrangement, candidates should read the sentence and try to arrange parts to make a meaningful sentence.
- Learn to find the linkage and connect the events.
- Follow the process of eliminating the wrong answer to reach the correct one.
- Work on your vocabulary and grammar. This will help you a lot.
