The area of a square is 10 times the area of a rectangle. The length of the rectangle is 30 cm and its breadth is 2 cm more than one-third of its length. What is the perimeter of the square?
Solution
Length of the rectangle = 30cm
Breadth of rectangle $= \dfrac{30}{3} + 2 = 12$cm
Area $= 30 \times 12 = 360$cm$^2$
Area of square $= 10 \times 360 = 3600$cm$^2$
Side of square = 60cm
Perimeter $= 60 \times 4 = 240$cm
