If the sum of five terms of an A.P. is 80, then find the third term of the A.P?
Solution
Let terms are = (a - 2d) , (a - d) , a, (a + d) and (a + 2d)
A T Q,
(a - 2d) + (a - d) + a + (a + d) + (a + 2d) = 80
$5 a = 80 \Rightarrow a = 16$
Hence the third term (i.e middle term) is 16.
