In the following question, a statement is given followed by two assumptions numbered I and II. You have to
consider the statement and decide which of the given assumptions is implicit. Give answer-
Statement: “Lock your valuables in a locker and call everybody gentleman”.
Assumptions:
I. Valuables locked in locker cannot be stolen.
II. Stealing is a crime.
If only assumption I is implicit
If only assumption II is implicit
If either assumption I or II is implicit
If neither assumption I nor II is implicit
Solution
The statement points out that a person who keeps his things locked away shall feel that every person is
good because he has no danger for his things. So, assumption I is implicit. The statement mentions
nothing about the lawful nature of the act of stealing. So, assumption II is not implicit.
