How to prepare Essay Writing for IBPS PO 2020?
A good essay is outcome of our imagination and writing skills. It is important to understand how you have to prepare structure for essay on the given topic. Now, you have thoughts, you have the content but next most important thing is to present it in well- structured manner. Checkout some tips here.
Reading
- Reading should be your regular task. Read as much journals, magazine and newspapers as you can. It will help you to gather ideas for essay and will also increase your general knowledge.
- Try to write articles you read in your own words with your own thoughts.
- Always do practise work on computer, not on paper because it will be an online exam.
Dictionary
- Consult dictionary wherever you want to know about any word. This will help you to understand the usage of words in sentence and increase your vocabulary.
Practise
- As said practise makes a man perfect. You must write atleast one article daily to improve your overall essay writing skills.
- This will also help in increasing your typing speed.
Things to keep in mind while writing Essay
- Read the instruction properly and stick to the word limit mentioned.
- Choose the topic that you are aware of. You must have proper data in your mind about the topic you are going to write.
- Divide your essay in 3-4 paragraphs- Starting paragraph should contain introduction of the topic. Second and third paragraph should contain the complete information you know about the topic and in last paragraph you must write the conclusion.
- Don’t use ornamental worlds. Be precise, no need to over exaggerate the sentences.
- Try to avoid repetition of same thing again and again.
- Be extra careful about spelling, Grammar, Vocabulary and structure.
How to prepare for letter writing for IBPS PO 2020?
Letter writing basically tests your communication skill in written form. Firstly, you must know the types of letter that can be asked.
Letters are of two types – Formal and informal/ personal. Both the type of letter have different format that you have to follow while writing.
Formal letters- These are official letters. These types of letter are written to government/Banks/or other professional fields.
Informal/personal letters- These letters are written for our near and dear ones like our friend, family member or any relation.
Tips for writing letters-
- Letter should be aligned to left while writing.
- Proper spacing should be there wherever required.
- Always began letter with proper salutation.
- For formal latter salutations like- Respected sir/ madam and informal greetings like hello/ dear can be used.
- Start your letter body with introduction of the reason of writing the letter and then write the main content. End your letter body with final conclusion.
- For formal letters, concluding part should contain words like ‘your faithfully’, ‘sincerely’ etc.
- Make sure that you should not expose your actual ID or name anywhere in letter. Use ‘ABC’ or ‘XYZ’ instead of your name.
